So I went to Walgreens again this morning to get more $0.05 school supplies. lol My church is taking up donations of school supplies to help kids in Macon County, TN, which is next door to Sumner County. They were hit by a horrible tornado a few months ago, almost exactly 2 years after my town (and neighborhood) was hit by one. It is a very rural county, and they are having a really tough time rebuilding. A lot of the people who lost homes were uninsured. So we are collecting school supplies for the kids.
Here are the deals I scored this morning:
- Ten 2-pocket prong folders – on sale for total of $3.34 – used Walgreens coupon to get them for $0.05 each – Total cost=$0.50
- Six 5-packs of Papermate mechanical pencils – on sale for $1.50 each ($9.00 total) – used Walgreens coupon to get them for $0.05 each – Total cost=$0.30
- 6 Highliters – on sale 2 for $1.00 ($3.00 total) – used Walgreens coupon to get them for $0.05 each – Total cost=$0.30
Cost for trip = $1.20 (including tax)
Total savings = $14.24 (off sale prices – probably close to $20 if you go by regular prices)
